2 hours
Date: Sun, Nov 6 (12:35pm)
Conditions: Warm, bright and breezy
Location: Gladesville to the Bay Run
Session: 2 hours. Ground to a halt at 1:34:16, 19.18km,
Sleep: 6 hours good quality, plus an hour or so of dozing.
Feeling: A little residual soreness, but okay.
Due to a late night run to the airport, didn't hit the sack until after midnight, and when the alarm went at 6, I knew there was no chance of getting up to join the squad for my long run.
Got through the morning and ended up heading out at around 12:35. Hadn't eaten a lot during the morning, and felt like I could have potentially been hungry so took a gel just in case.
Felt a little stiff through the first half hour or so. The sun was quite sharp and the wind made running on the Bay quite difficult. Gradually ground to a halt over the last twenty minutes or so, eventually finishing at the Shell on the Birkenhead side of Victoria Road, where I grabbed something to eat, and walked home from there.
Bit disappointing not to get all the way throught, but I guess I haven't gone long for quite some time, and with recent illness and disrupted training it's probably to be expected. Going out in the warmth probably didn't help, but hey, you've got to toughen up for summer somehow!
